The future Queen is taking matters into her own hands. After a key staff member left their position, Princess Kate has decided not to replace them, new reports have claimed, instead taking charge of the work they undertook herself.
The festive season is quickly approaching, and the future Queen has hosted her annual Christmas Carol service at Westminster Abbey. With Prince William and their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, coming along and supporting her.
The Wales family recently made a major change behind closed doors, moving into what they hope will be their ‘forever home’, Forest Lodge. The Windsor property marks a new chapter in the family’s life, as they say goodbye to their former home of Adelaide Cottage – which saw them go through some tough times together, including Kate’s cancer treatment.
Whilst the family are settling into their new home, some of their new neighbours are less than thrilled with having new royal residents in the area. With large swathes of the surrounding countryside now cordoned off to ensure the family’s security, local dog walkers have been left pretty disappointed with the development.
But that isn’t the only major change that’s been going on for Kate privately, as she takes control of one major aspect of her public life – her styling. The Princess of Wales has long been dubbed something of a fashion icon in the UK, with high-street pieces she dons for her official engagements regularly selling as royal fans try to emulate her timeless looks in something that has been called the ‘Kate effect’.
From down-to-earth casual gear for outdoor activities, smart casual options she chooses for charity engagements, or the high-glamour she opts for at state events and glitzy occasions – royal fans have followed Kate’s fashion journey closely, even before she officially joined the Royal Family on her marriage to Prince William in 2011.

However, for the first time as a senior royal, she is reported to be going it alone on the fashion front. People Magazine reports that this is all down to the fact that Kate is feeling more “confident” than ever before, after returning to the spotlight following her health challenges.
Kate’s reported to have always worked closely with Natasha Archer, her long-term former assistant and stylist, when it came to selecting her sartorial offerings, but when Archer decided to leave her position earlier this year, Kate apparently decided that she didn’t need to find a replacement.
The magazine quoted a source as saying, “Kate has always been very involved in choosing her outfits for royal engagements, but now she is so confident, she knows exactly what suits her and what doesn’t.” Archer decided to leave her role as an assistant behind and start her own new chapter, reportedly creating her own fashion consultancy.
