“YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!”: Princess Charlotte MESMERZIED the World In Stunning Blue Velvet Dress at Westminster Abbey As Her Striking Resemblance to Granny Diana in 1981 Has Fans in SH0CK
The 10-year-old stepped out for her mother’s annual “Together at Christmas” carol service.

Kate Middleton’s fifth annual “Together at Christmas” carol service is officially here, and it appears her daughter is taking style cues not only from the Princess of Wales, but also from her grandmother, Princess Diana. Ten-year-old Princess Charlotte—who, by the way, looks so grown up in photos from the annual event—stepped out on Friday, December 5 in an outfit that featured both a Diana-coded dress and a Kate Middleton-coded accessory.

Ever the stylish princess, Charlotte’s look consisted of a long-sleeve navy blue velvet dress with a white lace collar and matching blue tights. She paired the dress with sensible patent leather flats.

In particular, the velvet of it all immediately called to mind Princess Diana, who wore a strikingly similar Victorian-inspired gown to the 1981 National Film Institute Dinner at the Royal Festival Hall. The event took place mere months after her wedding to then-Prince Charles, and Diana clearly used the occasion to establish her fashion bonafides as a newly minted member of the British royal family.

As for the rest of Princess Charlotte’s festive look, eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed her hair bow as a clear nod to one of her mother’s go-to styling tricks. Indeed, Middleton wore a nearly identical black bow in her own hair to the 80th anniversary of VE Day this past May. She also wore a large black bow attached to the front of her red coat to last year’s “Together at Christmas” carol service.
