As their father faces a major legal crisis following his arrest on his 66th birthday, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly feeling “broken” and “duped” by the unfolding scandal. Sources close to the family indicate that the sisters are struggling to reconcile their personal loyalty to their father with the disturbing new evidence revealed in recent months. While Beatrice has attempted to maintain a supportive presence privately, Eugenie has reportedly sought distance, leaving both women to navigate the immense emotional toll of a public fall from grace that has devastated their family life.
When I logged on and checked my emails today, I did not expect to see photographs of police outside Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s temporary Norfolk home. Shortly after looking at the photographs in disbelief, I certainly did not expect to read that he had been arrested on his 66th birthday.
At the moment, it is believed Andrew is still in police custody after being arrested this morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office. It is not known how the former duke, or any of the royals, are feeling.

However, what I can say is that my heart absolutely breaks for his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
For them, waking up on Thursday morning, I assume the first thing on their mind was the fact it was their father’s birthday.
Did they even get the chance to send him a text, or make a quick phone call to the disgraced royal, before he was taken into police custody? Who knows.
Even now, have they had the chance to talk to him? Or are they simply sat at home watching their father’s, and potentially their own, worst day play out on TV screens?
The princesses are having to deal with what should be a private shock in front of the entire world.
The sisters have not broken cover today, and it is not known whether they have been in contact with one another or their mother Sarah Ferguson. I doubt they are having a good time.
While the sisters have stayed silent on Andrew’s scandals surrounding his previous friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, it is not known what approach the sisters will now take following their father’s arrest. Will they make a statement? Will they break their cover for charity work?
It is important to note that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing or accusations against him. Police are yet to provide any more updates on the arrest this morning.
