On the same day Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested, Meghan Markle released a personal message through her lifestyle brand, “As Ever,” to announce an expansion of her business into European and Asian markets. While the Royal Family dealt with the fallout of the arrest, the Duchess shared her excitement about bringing her curated home goods and preserves to a wider global audience. This strategic timing allowed her to maintain her own public narrative, focusing on her entrepreneurial growth even as the monarchy faced a significant legal crisis.

Meghan Markle has shared a new message today on the same day Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested. The former duke was arrested around 8am this morning, the day of his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

At this time, he is still in police custody. While King Charles released a statement today following the news, it seems Meghan Markle is ignoring the arrest drama and has instead shared a message of her own. This message is an email to her As Ever fans, promoting some of her comforting winter goods.

In the email, Meghan wrote: “When the temperature drops, we start by striking a match. A steady flame on the table. Soft light in the corners of the room. The familiar comfort of a scent that instantly changes the mood.”

She continued: “From there, everything else follows — a hot mug in both hands, citrus on the cutting board, something gently simmering on the stove. Small rituals, made warmer by candlelight.”

The email then contained links to some As Ever products including the candle, the hot toddy kit, the spiced cider mulling kit, and a herbal tea.

The email concluded that Meghan’s tip for the winter is to: “Add a spoonful of sweetness to your night, too. Stir As ever honey into a mug.

“Spoon it onto a little late-night toast. Or build a cozy snack board with whatever’s in the pantry.”

Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry, who quit royal life in 2020, have not commented on Andrew being arrested today.

King Charles, on the other hand, released a statement addressing the news about his brother. He wrote: “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office.

“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all. Charles R.”
